We have a 2.8si galaxy and the brake lights have suddenly stopped working, bulbs ok? can't find any problem with fuses - but fuses don't correspond to the book anyway!Any suggestions greatly received.

We are a nice bunch of boys and girls but as the site grows we have to be careful as to who gets full access, feel free to join in the topics started and soon you will be able to start your own,

If you put full details about your car i.e. year of manufacture, someone will no doubt look up the correct fuse to check.

Hi there

 

I had exactly the same problem and it turned out to be the switch at the top of the brake pedal. If you remove the fascia, next to the fuse box, you will have a clear view of it. It is quite easy to remove and a new one from Fords will cost between

Many thanks to Peter and Kev for helping me sort the brake lights, the fuses now correspond to the pdf files sent over [cigarette lighter now works after 8 years! - fuse no: 7] and the brake switch was replaced today
